KickAss Torrents files a petition to free Artem Vaulin

According to BBC, he is accused of distributing more than a £1bn worth of pirated stuff, which includes music and films. This has been going on for about 8 years.
Previously, government organisations and other agencies have tried to pull down Kickass Torrents (KAT), but the site keeps coming back using different domain names and on web servers which are hosted in different countries, making it very difficult for the authorities to ban them completely.
At present, Kickass Torrents (KAT) is operating through http://kickass.cd/
This site is very popular amongst Torrent users and have a huge fan following and some very loyal supporters.
On their site, KAT.am, one of the user Peter Milosh, who is from Australia has filed for a petition on Change.org to free Artem Vaulin.
Interestingly, so far 49,348 supporters have signed the petition. On the petition page titled “FREE ARTEM VAULIN”, Peter Milosh claims that “It's another attack on freedom and rights of internet users from all around the world. This is unacceptable!”
