After researching and using most of the tools ourselves, we have compiled our own list of FREE Must Have SEO and Social Media tools which small businesses should use to boost business performance and increase the overall impact of your business on online audience.
Here’s our list:
Ahrefs is a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tool that helps you audit and analyse your site’s strength and weaknesses. This tool is a must. We recommend this tool if you want to increase your online presence. You can use this tool to find out what and how your competitors are doing in SEO and compare it with your own site statistics. A very useful tool for website content analysis and backlinks.
The MozBar is a free browser extension that provides on-page access to Moz's link metrics and site analysis tools. Over the years it has gained a very popular following and saved a ton of time for SEO's and Inbound marketers alike. Works well with Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
For those of you, who don’t know what MOZ is then, much like Ahrefs, MOZ is a SEO tool for measuring, monitoring and evaluating the onsite and off-site aspects of a website's level of search engine optimisation as well as for managing social media accounts. Some of the tool features are available for free, however, if you are looking to make a full fledge use of it then, you would need to pay.
We love the combination of free account of Ahrefs and MozBar extension.
CheckMyLinks
CheckMyLinks is a very useful addon to check broken links on the website. On a single click of a button, it quickly scans the page and reports broken links (if any).
Unlike CheckMyLinks which is an addon, and that only scans a particular page; Brokenlinkcheck.com is a website tool that scans the entire site for broken links and 404 responses. It reports back broken links with location of the link, making it very easy to rectify the problem.
Keyword Suggestion tool
Ubersuggest.io quickly finds new keywords not available in Google’s Keyword Planner. A free and easy to use tool for keyword research.
Buffer is a free social media management tool that allows you to easily share your content with all your social media networks, so that, you don’t have to manually go into each account to post, tweet or share. In the free version, you can post to Twitter, Facebook profiles and pages, LinkedIn profiles and groups and Google+. Buffer also has a browser extension to make it even easier.
Bit.ly is an URL shortener tool that helps you shorten long URLs. It proves to be very handy while sharing links on Social Media, where character space is of utmost importance and needs to be utilized well. Needless to say, those long article / website URLs eat up all the character space, and that’s when Bit.ly comes into picture.
Commun.it is again a great tool for Twitter users. It gives a nitro type boost to Twitter activities. It is one of the best relationship management tool and encourages interaction on Twitter without putting in too much effort. You can categorise your feed into three: Influencers, Top Supporters and Engaged Twitter users; allowing you to make the most of Twitter.
We hope you like our list and find it useful. We’ll keep on adding new tools and resources in our upcoming articles.
